一、Analysis of the students
在学习本课时前,五年级的学生已具备下列语言知识和技能:能够听、说、认读一些课本要求掌握的单词及句子;能够听懂一些简单的对话,并作答;能够根据情景组织简单的对话交际和表演;能够提出简单的问题及回答,但还没有很好地形成科学的学习英语的方法和用英语进行思维的习惯。
说明:学生基本情况分析,为教师必须选择合理的教学方法和教学模式提供了理论依据。
二Analysis of teaching material
本课时在该单元中属于第一课时,教学内容的重点是句子“What does that sign mean ?”及其答语“It means ……”。要求学生掌握的单词及词组: sign , No talking, Guests do not go in, No mobile phone , EXIT, No fishing ,No picking of flowers, No spitting .但仅限于会听、说、认读 。因此,我们只要求学生在学完第一课时后能把所学的词组运用到句型中,并能在实际中进行交际,而把写的要求放在第二课时,这样,学生学起来才不会觉得累,学习兴趣才可以持久。
说明:教材是编者依据课程标准所编写的教学内容的载体,教师在教学中只有熟悉教材、了解教材的编写体系,领会课程标准的理念,才能做到“胸有成竹”,选择合理的教学方法。
三、Teaching procedure
Be able to read and listen to the words and sentences
Learn the words: a sign, No mobile phone, , No talking, No fishing, Guests do not go in, No picking of flowers, No spitting. And know the meaning of the public signs.
Understand the sentence: What does that sing mean? It means / says …
二、Teaching difficult points:
1. Pronunciation: a sign, No mobile phone, No talking, No fishing, Guests do not go in, No picking of flowers, No spitting.
2. 会用“What does that sign mean?”及其答语“It means …”询问及解释公共场所一些指示版的含义。
3. 手段与方法
使用呈现法和循环法,引导学生替换主句型中的短语,突出重点地操练语言,为学生创设真实的语言环境,让学生在自然的交流中逐步掌握主句型,并以此初步培养学生的语音、语调,建立语感,逐步发展学生运用语言的能力。

四、Teaching method
1. 教学模式:自主参与,互动合作
采用情景直观教学法、比较法、交际法、手势法和TPR教学法。引领学生口动、手动、眼动、脑动、身动,引导学生合作学习、自主探究。
2. 教学资源
教学资源包含有关标识牌的图片及多媒体软件(本课CAI )。
利用学生所熟悉的标识牌,选择有效的教学模式,是取得良好教学效果的保证。
五、四、Teaching steps:
Step 1 Warm up
1. Sing a song.
2. Greeting each other.
利用歌曲及问候,激发了学生学习英语的兴趣,营造了轻松愉快的教学氛围,消除学生上课的紧张心理。
 Step 2 Presentation
1.1)  Teach the new word “sign”.
  Teach the new signs from pictures or gesture.
T: Show a picture of signs and ask “what’s this?”
Ss: ….
T: It is a sign .sign/ sign \.
Ss: sign/ sign \
Read this new word one by one . Then , ask somebody to read it .
2.T: “Look!There is a man. What is he doing ?
Ss: He is fishing .
T: Can he fishing here ? (CAI shows the picture of No fishing )
 Ss: No ,he cannot .
T:  So , What does that sign mean ?
Ss : It means :No fishing .
3. Ask three naught boy talk loudly in class.
T: What is happen? we are having class now .Please be quiet, boy !At the same time ,I show the sign of “No talking ”And I put my finger up do the action
S: Take out the finger and do it with me .
T: Can you talk in class?
S: No we can’t.
T: Follow me ,please. No talking ,No talking.
 Ss: No talking ,No talking
4. My mobile phone is ringing, Somebody is calling me .
 T: show the mobile phone to the Ss and hang up the .phone. It is a mobile phone .I cannot answer it in class . (show the picture of NO mobile phone .)and ask: What does that sign mean ?
Ss:(Help them answer it ) It means: No mobile phone .
借助图片、实物、体态语言和已学过的单词导入新课,使学生在心理上产生一种亲切感,这种亲切感激发了学生学习的积极性,产生了学习的动力。通过师生的对话,自然引出句型What does that sign mean?及其答语It  means … .
5.  CAI shows the other public signs, let students use the new sentences to ask others questions. To answer according to the students’ question. Then show the new public signs and teach them.
 Teach  No spitting  、Guests do not go in , No picking of flowers in the same way.
落实任务型教学,以学生自主学习为目标,充分调动学生的求知欲,让学生初步掌握句型的基础上,根据自己所见的标志,运用“What does that sign mean? 向老师提问,在师生对话和生生对话交流中学习新知,熟练巩固句型。
 6 知识拓展:No swimming ,No cycling ,No eating and drinking here ,No parking and No smoking.
Step3 Practice
1. Guessing game
Show the CAI. Ask two students stand in front of the classroom, others look at the CAI. say: “it means …, what sign is it?”
设计任务型的游戏活动,一方面调动学生的学习积极性,轻松学习氛围;另一方面,突破难点,化解难点,迫使学生主动使用新句型“it means…”进行解释,运用刚学的词汇进行回答,让学生在游戏中轻松把握难点,并巩固所学新知。
2. Ask students to stick the signs on the picture.
T: (stick one sign on the paper) what does that sign mean?
S: It means…
Students do as teacher and answer in the form of group work. Teacher goes around the classroom and offer necessary help.
Ask several groups to show their pictures and act out their dialogues.
让学生联系生活经验,小组合作共同把所学的公共标志
贴在图的相应位置,并用what does that sign mean?
It means…“进行交流,让学生学会交流,倾听,尊重和合作,在轻轻松松中提高学生的听说能力。教师参与小组活动给与适当指导,加强师生互动,保证小组顺利完成合作任务。

Step 4    consolidation
   Show the CAI, pay attention on the new sentences and the new signs which leant in this lesson.
最后让学生巩固新知,感受品德教育——遵守公共秩序,保护公共环境。

Copy the new words and sentences.

 Step 6:    Blackboard writing
