教学目标
能听懂、会说、会读和会拼写单词与词组:talk ,talk about; learn …from…; sport.
能听懂、会说和会读词组: of course.

3、能听懂、会说和会读日常交际用语: I can learn a lot from it. Of course, I do.

教学过程:
Step 1 Warm up
1. Greetings: Nice to meet you! How are you this morning?
2. Daily report: What day is it today? What lessons do you have?
T: Last class, we learned Unit 8 At the weekends. Today we’ll go on learn it.  (Read the topic together)
Step 2 Free talk and revision
1. T: I have some phonetic wors. Can you read and spell it? Then use this word to make some phrases.
2. T: Ok, here’re some phrase,too. Let’s read them together.
3. Say a chant
 T: Last class, we learned a new chant. Let’s say it together.
4. Free talk
 T: Well done!(Ask one student)How do you spend your weekends? How does …spend his/her weekends? [ If you don’t know, you can ask him/ her]
S1: I often …. Sometimes I …. /  He/She often…. Sometimes he/she….
Work in pairs.
Sentences given: How do you spend your weekends?
               I often…. Sometimes I ….
               How does …spend his/her weekends?

After three groups make the dialogues, teach the new words and new phrases:

T: What are they talking about?
 Show ‘talk’  and ‘walk’.  Can you read this word? How to pronounce the ‘al’?
 Teach: talk about.  Try to make some sentences using ‘talk about’.

T: (If someone answer: I usually play table tennis. She/ He usually plays…) You like sport. He/She likes sport,too. And I like paly badminton, running and going climbing. So I like sport, too.

Step 3 Presention and practise
1 T:At the weekends, I often read books and writes e-mails to my friends. Jack is one of my friend. He often writes to me, too. Look, here’s a new e-mail. Let’s read it.
Dear Miss Lu:
     There are 4 tasks in my e-mail. Can you and your friends do?
Task 1: Watch and answer
Watch the cartoons and answer the questions.
What day is it?
What are the students doing?
The students watch the cartoon one time, then answer the questions.
Task 2: Listen and match
T: How do the children spend their weekends? Do you want to know? Let’s listen to the tape twice.
Complete the exercise.
Task 3: Learn a new word
T: Can you find a new phrase in the dialogue?
Teach: of course  (what is its synonymy?)  means ‘sure’
Make some sentences.
Task 4: Read and say
T: Read the dialogue quietly again.
The students read the dialogue quietly again.
T: Can you say something like the model?
Model: What does Mike do at the weekends?
       At the weekends, Mike often goes climbing. Sometimes he listens to the music. Sometimes he goes to the cinema.
CAI shows the pictures and sentences. Say and read.
Wang Bing; Yang Ling; Helen; Su Yang and Su Hai.
3 T: You did a good job. Let’s read the dialogue after the tape. ( one time.)
4 Try to read together.

Step 4 Consolidation
T: Just now, we talked about the children’s weekends. Here is a letter form Mike. Can you help him complete it?
The students complete the letter.

I’m your new friend, Mike. I’m an English boy. I live in Nan jing now. I like ____ . At the weekends, I often _____ _____ .Sometimes I ____ to music or ____ ___ the cinema.
